In mid-October I went to a fantastic apple festival hosted by our local university farm. It is a celebration of everything apple, with 50 varietals of apples to taste. In addition to the longest peel contest, the apple pavilion hosted a line-up of fun and interesting apple-based niblets. It was here that I encountered a hot apple cider.
Now, on the surface this may not seem like one of those life-changing events. Yet, wires crossed and created a big spark…. Chai-Der!
Forgive the horrible merging of names and trust that the merging of flavors is a sensory experience beyond seasonal enjoyment.
Try this recipe out for yourself and see if you agree.
Combine:
- One part chai
- Four parts apple cider
Steam with your wand or heat on a stovetop.
That is all for now, I have to scurry back up to Vancouver B.C. to our brewery. My rubber boots await.
