Here are some updates on our upcoming Walk for Water Event: Our list of key speakers is already up and we are excited that the Ambassador of Tanzania (Hon Seifu Ombeni) and Congressman Earl Blumenauer are part of the list. We are also excited to announce that this year we will be having a relay team competition for the Walk for Water. The relay will consist of teams of 5-10 people who will carry a 5-gallon bucket of water around a 3.1-mile course. While walking the teams will have to answer questions related to the United Nations Millennium Development Goals at different educational kiosks. In addition, teams will be timed, and will judged on how much water is left in the bucket after crossing the finish line. Lots of prizes, refreshments and food will be available at the finish line.
Currently were are doing an outreach campaign visiting public schools and businesses as well as working closely with the Portland State University Senior Capstone class on Millennium Development Goals to make the event a success. Please visit our website and bring a team down to walk on March 21.
